LARRY JEZEK - FREESTYLE ACID ETCHED COPPER ART Larry Jezek actually discovered the fine art of copper etching by accident while visiting Artist Michael Hurd’s studio in New Mexico. Michael was roofing his studio with copper panels and a few discarded panels had fallen onto the acidic soils of San Patricio, New Mexico and displayed a very interesting variety of patinas. Michael was generous to share these discarded panels with Larry. And the artistic adventure began… Once returning home, Larry spent years to duplicate the patinas on the New Mexico panels. After trying various acids and organic stains, the process of controlling different shades of brilliant blues, greens, reds, turquoise and even rust became easier. Larry’s acid etched copper plates are freestyle in that each piece of art is an original and are available upon request. Shown here, the original art panels are available in high quality photo print form or on brilliant canvas stretch. Framed works are also available. The Artist, a native Texan, works in his outdoor studio in East Bell County, Texas
